The object of the Association is to advance the education of the public in the art of music with special reference to liturgical and organ music.
We hold lecture/recital and masterclasses, and arrange visits to churches and organs within striking distance of Salisbury, record evenings and social events. We also endeavour to support young organists.
The SDOA is affiliated to the Incorporated Association of Organists. This enables SDOA members to participate in all IAO activities and entitles them to all the benefits and services provided by the IAO. SDOA members can subscribe at a reduced rate to the IAO magazine Organists' Review.
Annual Subscriptions for 2010 are now due please. Current rates are: - Full Member £12. Additional members at same address £8 per member; Pensioners and students £8. Additional members at same address £8 per member. Will those who pay by standing order please check that you are paying the correct amount and amend if necessary. Thank you.

| Summer Social at The Wardenry, Farley by kind invitation of Dr. and Mrs. Godfrey. 7.00pm for 7.30pm-9.30pm. The
format is likely to be much the same as in previous years and the cost will be about the same as last year at £8.00 per head. Please bring your own cutlery and garden chairs. Please send Janice Brown a cheque payable to Salisbury and District Organists' Association by June 4 if you would like to attend. After June 4 please refer any queries or cancellations to Richard Godfrey.

| Visit to Lyme Regis. The cost for those wishing to go on the Cathedral School minibus will be £10.00 per person. (NB the minibus can take 15 people and is filling up fast.)
The timetable for the day is:
9.00am: Minibus leaves the Cathedral School where cars may be left. (Please leave a note to say who you are and why you are parking there.)
11.00am: Arrive at Lyme Regis Parish Church where we will have a demonstration of the organ. Following this there will be opportunities for members to play. David Halls will assist with
registration (on the lines of the Cathedral workshop) This is not intended to make it very formal but just to make best use of the available time.
1.00pm Own arrangements for lunch.
2.45pm: Leave Lyme Regis for Stanton St. Gabriel. (The little church we visited last time we were in Dorset but where we were nable to see the organ.)
3.45pm: Tea at Chideock. (Again where we had tea last time)
6.00pm: Arrive back in Salisbury
Those wishing to travel independently should use the large car park on the B3165 just above Lyme Regis before you reach the town. There are toilets here. Please let Janice Brown know a.s.a.p. if
you would like to go on this outing.

Concessions for children
The Series runs from March to October. Salisbury Cathedral‘s Organ Recital Series 2010, performed on the Cathedral‘s famous father Willis organ is featuring one recital a month on a Wednesday. This series is in collaboration with the John Armitage Memorial Trust (JAM). Each of the seven recitals will feature a piece by a living British composer and highlights from each will be used to make a CD.
