Ed McHale 

 

Ed McHale was a boy chorister who took up the organ when his voice broke (40 years ago) and ‘learned on the job’. Later he discovered the Binns organ at Lower Hulton, and this led him to the Binns in Rochdale Town Hall. For many years he has been organist and director of music at  Westhoughton, with the new church and organ following a major fire. As well as being a member of ORTOA, Ed has been President of the Manchester Association five times, and is also a member of the Bolton organists association.
