Before the noon Organ Prom we meet in the Victoria Hall Sponsors Room (3rd Floor) for the AGM at 10.30am. Coffee can be obtained 10.0 am
onwards from the Atrium Caf Bar for a nominal charge. After the Silent Film Organ Prom, which will end at 1.30pm, we shall go to Shelton Masonic Hall for our 3 course Annual luncheon 2.0pm for 2.30pm.

A GOLDEN JUBILEE EVE OUTING TO LONGSDON & LEEK For our eve of Golden Jubilee year outing we shall meet at St Chads Church Longsdon to play the Jardine Organ.
At 2.30pm we shall go to St Edwards Leek to play the recently renovated Jardine organ.

We meet at St Pauls Church Hall, Newcastle for a special DVD presentation, buffet and cutting of the cake to mark 50 years since the very first meeting of the Organ Society was held on January 14th 1960. It will include interviews with founder members, photographs of founder members (the late Dr Michael Chamberlain & Trevor Tildsley), old programmes,

Dr Francis Jackson, on February 11th 1960, played the Societys first recital. Meet at Tunstall Methodist Church for a recital by founder member James Pritchard GRSM. Following that there will be members playing time on the Abbott & Smith/Reeves organ before we adjourn for an early evening celebration dinner at 5.30pm at the Churches Restaurant,
Old Town Rd. Hanley.

VISIT TO PRESIDENT AT THE BLACK COUNTRY MUSEUM
A visit to this famous museum and guided tour of the Steam Narrow Boat President by its Chief Engineer and NSDOS past Chairman David Stott. Take in some different terminology gudgeon pins, drip feed oilers, fly runs, fusible plugs , oakum grommets, butty, & chuff chuff up the funnel!
Lunch and a visit to a local organ.

We meet at 3.0pm at Forsbrook St Peters Church Blythe Bridge for a recital by Michael Rhodes, followed by members playing time. The organ is Steele & Keay/Willis/Reeves (Pedal 16& Great 8 reeds ex-Stoke Town Hall)

VH ORGAN PROM AFTERNOON RECITAL & COME and PLAY
Following the Victoria Organ Prom by the Scott Brothers Duo and a leisurely lunch, we shall have the third of our local recitals by NSDOS members. Past Chairman Chris Machin will play the organ at Longton Central hall. We meet at 3.0pm for the recital, to be followed by members playing time. The Jardine/Oakes/Ward & Shutt organ featured very much in the early days of the Society. One of this churchs longest serving members is John Machin, also one of our long serving members and committee member.

GOLDEN JUBILEE HIGHLIGHT
In the Organ Loft with Francis
Dr Francis Jackson CBE FRCO played the first NSDOS recital at Bucknall in 1960, and the 25th & 40th at St Peters so its a great pleasure to welcome him back to play the 50th recital and also talk to us in the organ loft at Stoke Minster.
Francis has accepted our commission to compose a work for NSDOS, which will receive its first performance when he plays it at this recital. It will thereafter remain a fitting remembrance for the long association that we have enjoyed with him in our 50 Organ Years.
At 7.30pm following the recital we shall adjourn to the Potters Club for a Golden Jubilee gourmet dinner.

The organ is a Wadsworth/Rushworth and featured very much in the early days of the Society

This will be followed by members playing time on the Hill/Reeves & Merner organ, which has the Tuba stop from the Binns organ once in Stoke Town Hall.

NSDOS Golden Jubilee Outing to Kendal
We shall visit Kendal Parish Church in the morning (Willis/Walker), and following luncheon go to founder-member Brenda Blakes church ( 3 manual Wilkinson organ) St Georges for a special Golden Anniversary Organ duo concert played by Brenda Blake & our President Patricia Turner. It will be called Dear Ladies and include the duet Nocturne written by the late Bob Diggles (another founder member of the Society) and the Teddy Bears picnic. Following the concert there will be members playing time and tea. |

VH ORGAN PROM AFTERNOON RECITAL & COME and PLAY Following the Victoria Hall Organ Prom by Keith Hearnshaw and a leisurely lunch, we shall have the sixth of our local recitals by NSDOS member former Chairman-Secretary-Treasurer Jonathan Hill at Stoke Minster. We meet at 3.0pm. After the recital there will be members playing time until 5.30pm The pre-Walker Binns organ featured very much in the early days of the Society for recitals by top players including Allan Wicks, Graham Steed, John Birch, Simon Preston, Margaret Cobb, William Hardwick & Eric Chadwick.

Golden Jubilee Celebrity Recital- Stoke Minster (St Peter ad Vincula)
St Peters with its fine Binns-Walker organ has been host to many excellent recitals by the countrys top players during the Societys past 50 organ years. On November 3rd Lichfield Cathedral Organist Philip Scriven will play the Golden Jubilee Celebrity Recital at 7.30pm. Philip is well known for his superb recitals and recently delighted the 2009 IAO Congress with his outstanding playing, programming and registrations on the Port Sunlight Willis organ.
