Congress 2013
Nurnberg, Germany

Basing ourselves in Nurnberg, the historic city which was the setting for Wagner's Die Meistersinger, home of the poet Hans Sachs and the Renaissance artist Durer, our 2013 Congress will enjoy five days in and around this attractive area of south-eastern Franconian Germany.

We shall travel on individual days to Bamberg and Bayreuth to hear the divers and interesting organs of this area, and also to Regensburg to hear the new Rieger organ of the Cathedral. A day will be devoted to the organs of Nuremberg itself, and we hope to make arrangements to visit the 13th century St Lorenz-Kirche with its three organs, and also to hear the organs of the Frauenkirche and St Sebaldus-Kirche.

The Congress hotel will be the four-star Le Meridien Grand which lies within walking distance of the historic centre of Nurnberg. Travelling by coach to our out-of-Nurnberg towns, arrangements are also inclusive of dinner, bed and breakfast and the IAO Annual Dinner.

All the venues and full details together with the advance reservation booking form will be available in the December edition of Organists' Review and on the IAO website. However we recommend that you put the dates in your diary now as places are limited and we anticipate a high degree of interest.

Flights to Nurnberg Airport (either direct or via Frankfurt or Munich, or Charles de Gaulle, Paris) are available from regional as well as national airports. The airport at Nuremberg is close to the city, with a fast train link service into the Central Station. The Meridien Hotel is located near the station, at the entrance to the old town. Please note, though, that delegates will be required to make their own travel arrangements to and  from Nurnberg.
