John Read

Formerly Organist and Choirmaster, Fairford Parish Church, Gloucestershire (1970-2007).

John Read hails from Cardiff where he was organist at a small parish church and a member of the Llandaff Cathedral Choral Society.

In the late 70s he moved to the Cotswolds and served as organist for Coln, Quenington and Hatherop.

He later moved as assistant organist at Fairford Parish Church. He stepped down from that post in 2007 but still occasionally plays for weddings and funerals there. He conducts the Fairford and District Choral Society, sings in the Gloucester Choral Society, the Burford Singers and the Three Choirs Festival Chorus, and is busy taking musical qualifications and composing.
