Gloucester Cathedral launches its 2009 Organ Recital Series with a free Bank Holiday Monday concert on Monday 4 May at 12.30pm. The series, running from May to December 2009 will put the Cathedral’s organ through its paces, courtesy of some of the country’s most highly regarded organists.
Six evening concerts will feature Gloucester Cathedral’s own musicians and invited guests, including international celebrity recitalist Nicolas Kynaston, while three free Bank Holiday Monday recitals will give music-lovers the chance to see the performers in close-up via large-screen projection to the Nave.
Tickets for the evening concerts are £8.00 (including a glass of wine) from Stroud Tourist Information Centre on 01453 760900, in person at Gloucester Cathedral Shop or on the door. Admission to the Bank Holiday recitals are free – no ticket required.
