| | 'This work is an attempt to produce a truly comprehensive and complete encyclopedia of pipe organ stops. If pure numbers are anything to go by, to date there are over 1100 distinct entries, and the index contains over 2500 stop names -- considerably more than either Audsley or Irwin, the two most common stop dictionaries. 'I have attempted to include every stop name that appears in “the literature” (see Bibliography) ... ' |

| | The Walker organ at St Mary's Church Hemel Hempstead UK had been allowed to get into a poor state. It was gradually restored to its former glory by an organ restorer; meanwhile, the Church used a Makin electronic organ. The restored organ - re-voiced and tuned - had its first airing in public on 12th March 2006. Pictures, text and a video give a good overview of the processes involved in restoring a pipe organ. |
