| | 'Concert Video Presentations was the brain child of Keith Hearnshaw in 2001. It was following his Inaugural Concert of the rebuilt organ at St Michael's PC Sandhurst, Berkshire in 2000. Provision had been made for a screen, camera and projector, allowing the audience views of him playing at the organ console. Comments from the audience during the interval such as "I didn't realise you used your feet to play" made me think, having a Big Screen at all my concerts would have major benefits. 'One thing led to another and in June 2001 the relevant equipment was purchased. Things quickly went from strength to strength and not only using it for my own concerts, I decided it was something to be shared around. The first hiring was at the IAO National Congress July 2001 for David Briggs in Gloucester Cathedral. Over the last few years the business has grown into a very successful enterprise and has helped break down the barriers between audience and performer, who is often situated totally out of sight ...' |

| | Valuable venture covering recitals at venues in Britain (i.e.
England, Scotland, Wales), plus much other good information (e.g. stop lists and maps of venues, together with websites/biographies of more than 200 organists). As at 6 April 2009, listed were 1,110 forthcoming recitals by 514 organists at 255 venues. The colour-coded Recital Diary conveniently lists concerts by recitalist, date, and venue; so it's possible to look-up who, when or where. You can e-mail any recital's details to someone else and, also, sign-up to have a list of each week's concerts delivered to you by e-mail. The website is described as 'a service, not a business, that takes pride in its appearance and in the accuracy of its information, although it's freely admitted that such a huge volume is likely to contain some errors. It seeks to provide comprehensive concert listings - together with stop lists, maps, and other useful material - in an attractive and user-friendly format. Hopefully, the free advertising and equal billing for the famous and the lesser-known will be beneficial to all concerned.' |
